We transfer our knowledge to clinicians seeking improved diagnostics and optimize treatment protocols
Next to the academic research departments at the different universities, various clinical departments of the related hospitals are involved in the research, responsible for the practical and routine implementation of all knowledge in clinical practices: early disease diagnostics and support in followup personalized treatments. As an example, the LC-MSMS profiling methods at the research department of the University Leuven are used by clinicians at the university hospital. Likewise, the biomedical research departments at the university Maastricht is collaborating with the department of neurology at the MUMC, and the research group Institute for Molecular Cardiovascular Research at UK Aachen is embedded in the hospital departments focused on cardiovascular and renal diseases.
The Eurlipids consortium has the ambition to create value for the clinical institutions, by the implementation of new diagnostic assays and general knowledge on disease onset and progression improving the quality in personalized health care. It seeks for and is open for collaborations with clinical institutes outsite the consortium and strengthening health care in a global context.
